Spiderman 3 just came out in the theaters and while it has received mixed reviews, it’s certain a hit with the masses.  I’m not entirely sure yet if I’ll shell out the $10 to see the movie, especially after reading Joe Morgenstern’s movie review (from the Wall Street Journal, who by the way writes fantastically articulate and accurate reviews).

 

Movie ticket prices have shot through the roof.  Being a parent also hinders my ability to get out and see the movies with my wife as much as we used to.  There are tons of other reasons why we would love to see it now, but might not make it to the theater this month.

 

So while I hem and haw about it, I just added Spiderman 3 to my DVD movie rental “queue” at Blockbuster Video’s Total Access online rental site.  Just like all the other movies in “My Q” at Blockbuster.com, it will be automatically shipped to me when ready. . .

 

 

When will it be ready?  As soon as it comes out on DVD.  This is one of the best features of Blockbuster online — you can order movies even if they are not out on DVD yet.  This way you won’t forget about it.  And once you identify a good movie, it will be saved on the list until it gets released on DVD, and then you’ll be the first to get it — basically 1 business day after it’s released on DVD.  Set it and forget it.

 

Since Blockbuster Total Access gives you unlimited rentals, there’s no problem if you get it later in the mail and don’t want to see it anymore…in fact, you can just immediately drive it to the local Blockbuster Video store and exchange it for a free movie rental and then they’ll ship out the next video on your online list which you’ll receive in 1 business day!

 

Technology is supposed to make life easier.  This is one example where it does that.  And services you buy should use technology that does that.  Blockbuster Total Access is definitely one of them.
