Adobe’s PDF format is a great way to capture data present it, especially over the web so that almost anyone can read it as intended.  It’s even great for handhelds that have their own Adobe Reader version available.

However, there are times where you need the data in a PDF file to be extracted so that you can use it elsewhere or integrate it with other stuff on a webpage — so that the user doesn’t have to specifically click on the PDF document link and open it up on their desktop or even within their browser.

Adobe’s website actually offers a free PDF-to-Text and PDF-to-HTML conversion service. . .

HOW TO CONVERT PDF TEXT ONLINE:

1) Go to Adobe’s Online Conversion Tools Page

2) Simply specify the location of the PDF file on the web somewhere

3) Indicate how you want the file converted (into HTML vs text) and you’re done!

No need for 3rd party software, purchases of expensive services for this, especially if this is one-time or rare need of yours.
