Samsung has done it again.  If you’ve ever seen a MicroSD card in person, you probably droped your jaw at first.  The memory card is so SMALL!

I personally use a 1GB MicroSD Card in my Samsung Blackjack cell phone.  So far it’s been enough, but I’m really looking forward to the 8GB Micro SD Card…why?

2,000 MP3 music files in my cell phone

4,000 digital photos to take with my cell phone camera

approximately 5 DVD-quality movies to watch with Windows Mobile Media Player

Look at that list of ALL the stuff that this tiny little thing can hold without any problems!  That would mean I can load up on audio books, mp3 music, and keep taking video clips and digital photos with my Samsung Blackjack’s on-baord camera.  Your cell phone is now a digital data briefcase!

Supposedly, demand for the high density 8GB cards for mobile phones will grow an average of 2.6 times per year till 2010 at least.  Which is why Samsung has rushed to develop it for cell phones like my i607.  I know I’ll be contributing to those statistics as soon as it comes to market.

In the meantime, I guess I’ll have to keep loving my 1GB MicroSD card!
