You probably don’t need to convert files into PDF format that often if you’re like most people.

And you certainly don’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars for Adobe Acrobat’s full program that allows you to create, manipulate, edit and convert documents into PDF format.  One alternative is to be able to convert documents to PDF without “printing”, on the fly.  Simple software is available for those that want to be able to drag and drop files for conversion or even just right-click on files to convert them.

So what do you do when you have just one or two documents that would be better to convert to PDF before you distributed them to others electronically?

There are a couple of virtual PDF Printer Drivers and online PDF generator services that allow you to upload a document online and retrieve the converted PDF file via a web link or have it emailed to you.

PrimoPDF is another one to add to the list.  PrimoPDF has a free download which lets you install a virtual PDF printer driver on your PC so that you can simply print to it from any application on your computer.  Instead of printing out physically to a printer, the PDF printer driver converts the file into a PDF format document and saves it to your hard drive for you to use however you want.

You have a slew of options available for the original document format.  PrimoPDF supports these file formats to be converted:
