Google Maps is a Drag!

Everyone loves mapping directions on the Internet.

It’s so common nowadays that people don’t even ask for directions anymore. They just map it.

One fact of life is that online mapping sites have had its limitations, while others have been continually evolving. Some sites like Yahoo!Maps came out with the ability to map directions with multiple stops along the route, even optimizing directions if you have several locations to hit before the end of your trip.

Neato. But GoogleMaps, the originator of the draggable map, has added a super cool feature that makes dragging fun, but more important — completely practical for real life. . .

Change the directions you’ll take by simply dragging the route so that you can take another road — Google Maps will auto-recalculate the way. This one is great if you’re mapping right before you take off and see via the “Traffic View” that there are delays or traffic construction advistories in real-time on the route originally suggested by Google Maps. In addition, you can add interim destinations as well by adding them to the list between the origination point and destination point — using an address or simply clicking on the actual point of interest on the map and using one of the options (to/from) given.
