Personal Technology Tips in Plain English
When Photo Editing Is Simply A Picnik {dotcom that is}
Sometime Less Is More.
There are tons of time where photoediting is sorely needed . . . like slimming someone down in beach shots from the summertime to make them “frameable” for the mantle in your home.
But there are times where you just want to do some quick and easy edits without launching Photoshop or GIMP or the other full-blown photo editing suites. And sometimes you just want to do it right there when you find a photo online.
Here’s a new online service I found recently that does the trick (and plenty of more neat tricks) for free. . .
Picnik.com allows you to grab a photo from your webcam, your PC or one of the major photo sharing sites like Flickr, Picasa or Webshots.
And then let the fun begin!
Gotta love a free service like picnik.com for photo editing. . .
You can crop, rotate, sharpen, resize or just auto-fix or apply a bunch of neat effects while you are at it.
And then you can save your final masterpiece to use any way you want.

There’s even some neat features like auto-ratio clipping for common avatar or photo headshot uses for GoogleTalk, Blogger or forum profiles, etc.
You can change the background like a “polaroid photo frame” and even re-color the photo with different tints (like blue).
This is a perfect way to test out the service. . . right now!
