Do you have a good sense of what impression others have of you?

Especially if you have a blog that dives into the depths of your thoughts and pondering of life, you may want to take a step back and think about this.  Is the picture that you’re putting out there really what you are trying to convey?

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s a neat tool that allows you to capture the essense of your blog or website with a couple dozen words…

I created a word cloud of this blog as an example so that you get a sense of the interesting way it portrays the conversations it’s analyazing:

Just head over to www.wordle.net and paste in a block of text.  Or submit a URL of any website and it will quickly generate a conversation map like the one above.  you have options to change how it’s layed out, fonts, orientation of the fonts, even color schemes.

Get a sense of the image you are portraying with your words. . . in words.

Or you may want to try some of the blogs that you frequent. Many blogs nowadays have “tag-clouds” which assemble a cloud of the tags that the writer has used to tag their posts.

But wordle.net gives a “reality check” since it uses the actual words vs. conceptual tags the author thinks they are writing about. It really is a great tool to see if what you are reading is really what is being said. . .
