    Mac and P.C. users that do not own Microsoft Office, or users of earlier versions of Microsoft Office that are not covered by Microsoft compatibility pack, but still want to convert, open and use Word 2007 DOCX or Excel 2007 XLSX files on their own computer, can use “docxconverter 2.0”. See:

    FYI, this problems seems to occur on the Mac side as well. So if you have an older version of Mac Office (Macintosh Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc), Microsoft offers a free download patch that you can install so that you can open and edit documents saved by the newer Mac Office 2008 or Windows PC Office 2007 applications:

    For solve problems with doc files advise use-“Fix docx”, the tool is free, it exports recovered data into a new Word document, program scans damaged documents, fixes docx openings and analyzes the data, it will recover it and show in a preview window, where the user can check it and make sure that it is recovered properly, you can fix damaged docx and recover documents of different formats (*.doc, *.docx, *.dot, and *.dotx) as well as *.rtf (rich text files), and you can extract the data and fix docx file from any removable media even via local network of your organization.
