Keep Yourself From Embarassing Yourself
It’s one of those things in life that are super simple, no brainiac needed. Every time you send an email from Gmail, there’s a delay before it actually gets sent so that you can realize that the email attachment that you wanted to send wasn’t really attached — now you can go off and attach that file so you don’t have to send one of those “OOPS!” emails right after the first one.
I started to think, hey, that’s not so special? And guess what…I was right!
I use MS Outlook as my desktop email reader, so I quickly figured out that Outlook has the ability to build some Mail Goggles too. Here’s how:
- Simply go to TOOLS > RULES & ALERTS > NEW RULE…
- Select “CHECK MESSAGES AFTER SENDING”
- Click “NEXT” without checking any boxes on Step 1 page
- You’ll find the DEFER DELIVERY BY __ MINUTES option
Now, every email you send will be held just for a brief time so that you have a second to think if that really was meant to be sent. You’ll have the ability to re-edit the email and attach a file as originally intended, or finesse the wording of the somewhat generic email.
There you go: Mail Goggles for Oulook
