Are You A Text-a-holic? Yeah, I’m Talking To YOU.

A friend just sent me a link to a parody video and said I was the first person to cross the mind while watching it.

Are you one of those people that have the phone handset glued to your palm? You can’t put down because you’re doing one of a couple of things, over and over and over again, even if it’s not for texting alone:

  1. Checking your email since the last time you pressed check email 1 second ago
  2. Browsing your Facebook app
  3. Trying to take photos and tweet them to the world that isn’t really listening since you have only have 12 followers
  4. Checking your email in between tasks
  5. Texting a friend 2 C wuzup?
  6. Downloading totally useless apps and playing them whenever you get a chance.
  7. Checking your email just in case you missed an email that might have just came in.

IS THIS YOU?

Here’s the funny video — check it out for yourself:

What do you think?

It’s funny alright. . .

But is it true?!

15 Sites That Help You To Share or Transfer Large Files Over The Internet

These days, collaboration is a buzz word that is becoming a reality.

Along with collaboration is a nifty term called “file sharing” – it used to be something that sounds easier than it really is.

It used to be you had to put it on a flash drive or burn a CD or DVD to move large files back and forth.

Or if the file was big, but not huge, you could simply attach it to an email and click SEND.  But these days, files can grow beyond the 20 MB limit quite easily.  And if we’re talking about media files, the 20MB limit is a joke.

But these days, it’s much easier to transfer files back and forth.

Here’s a quick hit list of file sharing services that let you send large files to someone else (or yourself!) over the Internet: Read the rest of this entry »

How To Get Your Weather Forecast By Email

Ok, so my last attempt to predict the weather daily didn’t really work out.

Here’s a better way to know what the weather is going to be like without turning on the radio or tv and waiting for the weatherman to come on.  No opening up a web browser either to go check a weather website like www.weather.com or www.accuweather.com (my fav), etc.

I simply have the weather report emailed to me every morning right before I get up each day.  That way when I check my email on my cell phone or computer, I have a quick weather report snapshot for the whole week.

What I like about this service is that there a bunch of options available like which days you want the weather report emails, what time of day for each delivery, if you want severe weather alerts, and if you want a 2nd weather forecast sent to you later during the day (perhaps before you go to bed?) too, etc.

It’s just a one-page sign-up form and you’re all set.  Your own personal weatherman via email!

Do you use any other service to get the weather?  Share them below in the comments. . .

When Doubling Your Microsoft Outlook Email Is A Good Thing: Backing Up Your Email

Do you remember the first time you figured out the internet and got a new email address?

And everytime you checked your inbox, you wished someone sent you some email?

Nowadays, it’s the exact opposite.  No one I know want more email than they are currently receiving.  Forget about SPAM, there’s just too much email going back and forth with varying degrees of importance.

Every email header takes up the same amount of space on the screen and you need to spend the same amount of  time with each to figure out if it’s SPAM, urgent, non-urgent, completely useless, one of those “REPLY ALL”s that the same people keep sending, etc.

You\'ve Got Mail - TWICEYou\'ve Got Mail - TWICEBut there’s actually once case where you really want to double your email inbox – exactly double it. Read the rest of this entry »
