These days, collaboration is a buzz word that is becoming a reality.

Along with collaboration is a nifty term called “file sharing” – it used to be something that sounds easier than it really is.

It used to be you had to put it on a flash drive or burn a CD or DVD to move large files back and forth.

Or if the file was big, but not huge, you could simply attach it to an email and click SEND.  But these days, files can grow beyond the 20 MB limit quite easily.  And if we’re talking about media files, the 20MB limit is a joke.

But these days, it’s much easier to transfer files back and forth.

As HDTV flatscreen TV’s get bigger and bigger, so do computer monitors.

As of April, 2010, Samsung makes the largest LCD computer monitor at 46″ in size. . . But you can enjoy the benefits without paying $48,000 that is required to buy a big fat computer LCD monitor display!

If you have more than one monitor, that will work too.

It’s one of the best ways to increase productivity (and your geek factor) – chances are you have an extra monitor lying around in the back closet somewhere – it doesn’t even have to be a flat-screen monitor to add value either.

Setting up a multi-screen computer monitor set-up is easy.  Windows and Mac have built-in tools to extend your desktop to more than your main screen.

But sometimes it’s better and easier to use 3rd party tools.  Lifehacker to the rescue with their roundup of 5 multi-monitor management tools for the pc (actually it should be 4 since the include Windows 7 as one of them):

Of course there are bunch of other utilities out there to use, but the first two above do offer freebie versions which may work for what you need.  And the other two made the list for good reasons too.

    It’s all about YOU: How To Download YOUtube Videos

    In our culture today, It’s all about YOU. . .

    YOUtube that is.

    2007 was the year of online video and YouTube was at the forefront of it all. Google made a smart move to gobble up YouTube when it could.

    Now there’s so much video content being produced and uploaded and the masses are taking to having their own YouTube procrastination breaks all throughout the day.

    As if it’s so critical to have access to YouTube, even iPhone launch marketing collateral made a point of the fact that you can access YouTube videos on the iPhone. Yahee or Yahoo! J

    Anyway, when you find that gem on YouTube, sometimes you wish you could just *keep it* or rather download it to save, forward or just watch over and over again offline to waste even more of your life. How do you do that?

    Well, there’s a great site called KissYouTube that lets you do this. You simply visit www.kissyoutube.com and enter the URL of the YouTube video clip you’d like to save, and it will automatically allow you to download the video clip in a format that you can save and watch on your own computer without a flash-based browser.

    OPTION #2: The Internet never offers just one choice. Here’s another option to download online videos into various formats for your PC, iPod, mobile phone, DivX, etc. www.vixy.net offers you several options with a drop down menu to select which format you’d like when you grab that video.

    Or if you find that hilarious or inspiring music video, but want to download the audio track for your listening enjoyment in the car or on your mp3 player, there’s an option to download the audio into mp3 format only as well.
