“ME” = “YOU”

I hope it’s clear, but the “me” in essistme.com is really YOU, the reader.

I’ve been writing things that i believe are of interest to you and hopefully you’ve gained a tip, insight, smile or something of value before you hit that “BACK” button or jump back to Google surfing for something else.

Well, there’s one sure way for getting me to write more stuff that interests you….tell me.  Leave a comment below and let me know what gadgets, subjects, topics, e-problems, issues you personally are interested in so that i get a better sense of where to go next with www.essistme.com

For example, personally I definitely have interest in neat cell phones like my Samsung Blackjack or Treo or Blackberry or iPhone, Tivo, Sony Vaio laptop, PPC/Search engine marketing, eBay, discovering new websites that offer really practical tools.  So what interests you?

Basically, help me help you!  :-)

Downloading Movies, TV Shows, eBooks & Music to Your iPhone

The iPhone’s handsome display is perfect for watching video and other content like eBooks.

It was only a matter of time before Apple iPhone owners got the ability to tap into P2P downloading networks that basically allow you to find and download unlimited files like mp3 music, audiobooks, movies and TV shows, etc.

The wait is over it seems and iPhone owners can basically find media files just as if they were on their PC’s looking for videos of their favorite tv shows and movies.  The software download available also includes PC-to-iPhone video conversion features so that you can watch any video you have on the iPhone.

A couple of different options are out now that all basically provide the download manager software and access to the P2P networks:

  • iPhone Nova : 1-time $49 software download, no monthly fees for access
  • iPhone Cyclone : 1-time $49 software download, no monthly fees for access
  • iPhone Download Pro : $49 flat-fee unlimited access – or $1.75/month option

None of these companies are affiliated with Apple and this isn’t connected with iTunes at all.  They all claim to provide the software, tutorials and technical support to get you to the point of being able to file share with others across the network.

New York City Explosion July 18, 2007 in Grand Central – Steam Pipe + Transformer : Getting the Latest News Update

There was a sudden explosion of a major steam pipe which triggered another explosion of a transformer by Grand Central.  Plumes of steam and sudden 9/11 scares rushed through everyone’s mind this evening.

The key is finding out the latest information when news breaks.  It used to be that you would flip on CNN or one of the major news networks and WAIT for the emergency interruption news briefs and updates.  With the internet, there’s another way to proactively search and find more information faster in the aggregate to give you a better picture of what’s going on right now.

In fact, sources like Google News can give you news articles, photos and videos that were posted as little as 2 minutes ago, to give you really the latest information — without waiting to get through commercials or for the TV news outlets to assemble their teams and write scripts on the fly.

Here’s how to get a listing of basically almost real-time news updates on any major breaking news online:

iMission iPhone iWantit

David Pogue of the NYTimes writes in the Circuits section each week.  Usually he has some interesting things to read about.  Similar but different than Walt Mossberg of the Personal Technology column at the WSJ.  Both have covered the Apple iPhone, but Pogue seems just a little bit more quirkier.

Pogue has recently started to publish similarly quirky vlog videos on various subjects including a humourous look at the Apple iPhone. Read the rest of this entry »

A Closer Look At The Apple iPhone

If you’re contemplating joining one of the literally million iPhone owners out there, you probably want to head over to an Apple store and try out the iPhone (they have about 1/2 dozen available at my local Apple store on the demo table).

But if you haven’t headed out to the store yet, here’s one from CBS that is one of the better videos which walks-through the major features of an actual Apple iPhone that’s live and working: Read the rest of this entry »
